A Control Panel is a web-based user interface via which you can handle numerous aspects of your web presence. For instance, you could create or modify site files, create and check email messages, manage databases, check visitor stats and so on. These things are performed via buttons and menus in an internet browser and the Control Panel could also be called ‘back office’, i.e. the admin area associated with your web hosting account. Most Control Panels these days will permit you to handle all hosting-related matters, but you will usually require a different system to manage payments or to get a new domain when the company offers domain registrations. Depending on the platform they use, you may be able to use the billing account to open a support ticket to ask a question or to troubleshoot a problem also, or you may have to use a third system.
