A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to nonexistent addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Only one single mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you will never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of setting up a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of spam email messages, but this problem can be resolved by using anti-spam filtering software. It is also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound messages to a third-party email address.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
Setting up a catch-all email mailbox will be unbelievably easy if you’ve got a Linux shared web hosting with us. You can activate this feature through our advanced, yet easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is included in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage your account. You will find all the mailboxes that you have set up displayed alphabetically and on the right side of each of them there will be a tiny "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly let you know if a certain mailbox stores all the emails associated with a certain domain name or not. With one mouse click on the icon you can enable or disable this option whenever you wish. If there is active email forwarding or if a different mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a certain domain, you will receive a warning from our system. The latter won’t replace/deactivate anything automatically or without your approval.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all email address can be set up with a couple of mouse clicks if you have a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with us. The hosting account will be managed via our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes under any domain name registered here. To activate the catch-all feature for a given mailbox, you’ll have to click the icon with the exact same name, which will be next to each mailbox. Disabling this feature can be achieved in the very same way and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a given domain, you’ll get a warning alert. The same is valid if the mailbox that you would like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never edit or disable anything automatically.
